Ready to love learning

Adaptive. I have a background in experiential education and believe that the method is not as important as the end result of having assimilated, understood, and taught back the information. My comments on tutoring Composition : I have received above average marks on all writing and composition tests taken.

I helped elementary kids in highschool ('08-'09). I was a peer facilitator for highschool Biology and Advanced Placement Psychology ('09), and I have various experience helping others understand the subjects they have trouble with. My strongest suit in my teaching style is probably the many ways that I would approach teaching a certain principle. If the student does not understand one way to approach a problem, I try to best to help them understand and learn another way. I feel like since everyone learns differently, a tutor should approach a problem from as many angles as possible. My teaching style is also very patient. I suppose the saying "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish, feed him for a lifetime" would apply to my style. I try to make sure the student understands the principles behind the type of problem and not just how to do the one problem. Upon graduating from Columbia International University in 1980, I took a position at The King's Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida as the department head for the math tutoring department for elementary students. I stayed in that position for three years until I started a family. When my children became school age, I took a position at Dekalb Christian Academy in Atlanta, Georgia heading up the tutoring department and worked with elementary and high school students in various subjects.
