Online Music Lessons and Elementary Test Prep/Homework Help

I am currently a general music teacher at Samsula Academy, an elementary school in New Smyrna Beach, FL. I teach general music classes to students in grades K-5, as well as chorus and band. I received my Bachelor's degree from Marywood University in Scranton, PA and began my Master's studies at University of Central Florida. I currently aspire to study Irish traditional music in Ireland in the near future, and would continue to offer online tutoring services during those studies. When I started at UCF, I was invited to join a cohort of students who were on the path to become Educators, the STEP Program. This allowed me early on to get into a classroom and volunteer with students. These early experiences made me know for certain that my passion was in teaching. In Spring 2010, my degree in Elementary Education was conferred. Over the summer I worked for a Girl Scout day camp, and then was hired by the Citrus Council. I started tutoring with a company in the fall of 2010, and I love my work there so much. I am looking to be able to tutor more children, and expand my experience.

I was a member of the Honors program at Valencia Community College, and graduated with my Associates (AA) as a Pre-Major in Elementary Education. I was hired as a Substitute Teacher for Orange County Public Schools in 2007, where I substituted for absent teachers and paraprofessionals in the Orange County Public Schools district. As a Substitute teacher, I taught children individually, as well as in group settings with varying exceptionalities. I also have taught children piano lessons, and french horn lessons in after-school programs.
I absolutely love helping children obtain their goals education-wise. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an undergraduate and master's degree, both focused in religious studies. I taught for two years at a private school here in Orlando. I taught middle school English and Bible. I have also been working with Valencia Community College (east campus) as a tutor for many different subject areas. I have also done some tutoring on the side in reading, grammar, math, religion, history, etc.
I really love working with young people and helping them to reach their full potential. As a tutor, I do not teach the material necessarily, but I help to facilitate the learning process and reiterate what has already been explained and taught in the classroom (hopefully). I enjoy helping students learn, no matter what the subject is. Young people truly are the future, and as an educator I feel compelled to invest in their academic experience.
