My teaching style is hands on. Students need to work with concepts to understand them. I can often explain things in a manor that students understand. I believe every student can learn if given the correct instruction for their learning style. I went back to school afer retiring from my job as a medical technologist to start a new career as a teacher. I have tutored in the past as a college student. As a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University in General Science Physics, I have completed extensive coursework in the areas of math, science, and engineering. I am looking to obatin an accelerated teaching certificate and I believe this would be a good start for me. I have completed coursework in upper level biology and physics as well as general chemistry. I have completed math through calculus II. I graduated from college with certification to teach grades 1-12. Do to the job market at that time, I was unable to get a full time teaching job. I substituted and then tutored for 2 years. I then worked various jobs working with the public. Although much of work experience is not in the teaching field, I have worked with people in many ways to reach their full potential and can relate to them on a level that they will comprehend. I believe in using a multi- modality approach to teaching. The more senses involved, the more likely one will remember.
