My teaching style appeals to all learning types. I use examples alot so that students may get a sense of what is requires. I like to break learning dowm into steps that that every step is mastered to conclude a full mastery of a topic/subject upon completion.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.

A Little Bit About Me...

My experience as a teacher/trainer/tutor/instructor is wide-reaching and diverse. From Sunday school to scientific and technical subject matter, my students have ranged from teenagers to corporate managers and directors. My passion for English started with the greatest high school English teacher the Southside of Chicago has ever known; Maceo T. Bowie. He was a role model for me and many others who had the fortune, or misfortune, of being in his classes. My greatest achievement was learning subject matter in German and then having my German students present this information to me in English only.

A Little Bit About Me...

I spent 4 years in college teaching preschool, as well as 2 years as a high-needs reading tutor for the psych dept at my university. My degree is in journalism/English Lit and my GPA in Lit was a 3.7. I have three children of my own, and they are all avid readers, with my oldest reading 150+ books per school year. I'm well-aware of the current and classical children's literature out there, and taught both of my older children to read - at 5 and 3, respectively.
I'm very laid back and just enjoy being around children. Every child is different and has different interests and difficulties. One box does not fit all, and it's a matter of figuring out how to relate to the child at hand and make the subject matter appealing to them that I enjoy the most.
