I am an active teacher. I want students to understand the subject in the context of their own lives as opposed to just learning definitions. If they can realate the information to an actual happening, they are more likely to remember. In terms of test preparation, aside from learning the information it is important to work on test-taking skills (relaxation, focus, etc.). Being prepared for such large tests is more than just knowing, it is recalling under pressure. I work with all of that to help the student.

This experience includes practicums in Fort Collins schools and 16 weeks of student teaching at Loveland High School. All 3 stints involved either algebra or geometry. While taking courses for my license, I augmented my math knowledge with classes that included calculus, abstract algebra, and non-Euclidean geometry.
