A Little Bit About Me...

I was born to teach. From 10 years old I would teach my friends during summer vacations or whenever I could get them to play my favorite game, school, (Kids don't play school anymore). I enjoy helping students make the connections. I use a teaching approach that is hands on and generally seeks to find atudents learning style. I know that all children can learn, it is sometimes a matter of how they learn that becomes a barrier. I Generally like to propose problems and or questions to students and have a general discussion about the math. If at all possible, I want them to be able to understand and explain how math works in their world. I also try to help them understand that math is a series of patterns and if they can understand and follow the patterns, this will be in their best interest.
I taught pre-algebra and algebra at Helms Middle School in San Pablo, California from 2002 - 2010.
