In the classroom I rely on traditional lecture, supplemented by Powerpoint presentations, animations, and lists and diagrams on the white board. I usually assign a research paper. In the last few semesters I've implemented through Blackboard some online testing, as well as tutorial "homework" quizzes, where the students get feedback directing them to coverage of particular sections of the text. I always try to make students aware of how the detailed, technical concepts of the moment fit into the "big picture," making references both to material previously covered and to material yet to come.

I did this by striving for excellence in the classroom and participating in cutting edge research with professors in the Entomology and Organic Chemistry departments. My extensive knowledge of the subjects I’ve studied has allowed me to assist my friends in understanding complex and difficult problems. I believe the best way for someone to learn something is through application and repetition.
