As a teacher, I bring passion for both creativity-based and logic-based subjects. I don't subscribe to the right-brain/left-brain paradigm. I believe students can be strong in both mathematics and writing, and it is my desire to help students realize this, because so few people do. My basic tutoring practice is to let the student do most of the talking. I believe this keeps the student engaged in the subject and demonstrates whether or not he or she really understands. While pursuing an undergraduate program in Biology, I was fortunate to join the peer mentoring program at my school. As a peer mentor, I tutored in General Chemistry 1 and 2 for two years. I made counseled and guarded my peers in my area of study I also tutored in calculus 1 for a program by the division of science called City College Academic for Professional Preparation (CCAPP).
