My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I believe my volunteer work with children and my advanced degree in psychology are advantageous for assisting individuals with ADD and ADHD.

I have tutored children off and on since I was in high school. More recently, my time has been spent volunteering with The Giving Tree, where I tutored inner-city children after school and helped organize activities (museums, zoo, etc.) on the weekends. I am currently in the final stages of my dissertation for a doctorate in psychology, so I am always actively learning, too. My aspirations are to become a professor in higher education upon acquiring my Ph.D..
I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved to teach and have been told by my children that I should have been a teacher. When it comes to math I have found that most people who have trouble with math have simply missed some fundamental along the way. It is extremely rewarding to figure out what that is and fill in that hole. I teach by breaking problems down and asking easier questions that lead to the answer. I am good at finding many ways to approach the same problem while I search for the way that clicks with the student. One of my children has ADD so I have learned to recognize when that focus switch turns off and have found ways to bring the focus back.
