I am very hands on teaching style. I make sure I cater to each of my students individually. I offer my students the encouragement and respect they deserve and treat them with kindness. I adjust for visual, hearing, and hands-on learners. I put a lot of pride in my work and I am not satisfied until the student has a firm grip of the subject matter.

Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.
Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. I've been told I am very good at explaining a topic that someone has no experience with at all. I am on contract with NC States Computer Training Unit.

I love tutoring students because through my experience I have learned that one on one time can be really beneficial to all students. During this time I am able to really talk with students to figure out what their specific needs are. I can also help students learn specific study and reading skills. Through my experience, I have seen the most improvement with students when they have one on one time with their tutor or teacher.
I graduated from Mount Union College in May 2006 with a BA in History and a double minor in Adoloescent to Young Adult Education and American Studies. I enjoy teaching and working with HS and college students. For me every student is a different young person, which should be treated individually, according to his abilities and style of learning. A teacher needs to be patient and a good observer to identify the talents and skills of a student and then use them to provide the best teaching service for this particular student. Building self-confidence and interest in the subject of study in my students are two important parts of my style of teaching.
I have earned my Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology in Wroclaw, Poland. For some more years I worked there, where I loved teaching students and doing scientific research. A Little Bit About Me...

During my time at North Carolina State University I gained both teaching and tutoring experience. I spent one semester as the lead lab instructor for a classroom of 30 undergraduates. My duties included teaching students how to implement experimental design methods using statistical software. I also spent a year as a statistical consultant for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Aside from these formal positions I also served as a private tutor. The students I worked with ranged from those in high school taking AP Calculus, to undergraduates taking introductory or upper-level statistics courses.
As a teacher I believe that time shouldn’t just be spent dealing with specific formulas or computations but on understanding the big picture. Spending a little time thinking about the background of a problem can help a student apply what they learn to new situations as they arise. ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that information accessibility should be emphasized and placed in bold. I would consider my style personable, compassionate, and driven to excel. I like to bring humor and discussion into the arena. If it's just me talking, how does it benefit the student if they do not feel they have the ability to rebut or 'think out loud?' New ideas and processes of interpretation are enabled in both the student and the teacher through a live and ever-changing dialogue. I realize that in the 'classroom proper' not everyone will have the 'eureka' experience. That is why the teacher must enable the students to make the connections themselves through collaboration, small projects, various 'out-of-the-classroom events/activities, and self-motivated inquiries. Once the information has been perceived by the student as important, he/she will want more to do with it. The information age has brought ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

My academic and professional histories champion my lack of formal teaching experience. Upon graduating from NC State with Psychology and Journalism degrees in December 2005, I was employed as an editorial and production assistant at a national consumer magazine; Child, in New York City. My roles were exhaustive of both skills I am trained in, and the quality of my writing and grammatical abilities improved greatly. I have been tutoring undergraduate students in writing and aiding with their writing assignments for roughly three years. Notwithstanding the fact that I currently am a research assistant at NCSU's social psychology stress lab, I am confident that my contribution to Advanced Learners' students will be par none.
I see the role of the educator as a pivotal element in not only academic success, but social and cultural success as well. Therefore my teaching skills often i ... read more

There are currently huge gaps in the education of our children, which if left unaddressed, cause struggle and difficulties for them down the road, and ultimately in life. I am passionate about filling in those gaps and doing my part to ensure every child or adult is given the educational help they are entitled to. I feel it is important to be attentive to the individual learning style of each student and I enjoy the challenge of finding different ways to take complex ideas and deconstruct them into simple and useful components. I believe in shaping information to connect ideas in a more fluid and organic way. I have a very lively, animated personality so I like to make learning a fun experience.

My teaching strategies and techniques motivate students to go beyond theories. I provide proven practical strategies to help students integrate classroom discussions with real life and practical technologies. More About This Tutor...

For over four years, I have been involved in private tutoring as well as teaching classes available to the public. I have a passion for teaching and enjoy helping others succeed. While completing my Bachelors in Business Administration, I developed a firm understanding and passion for economics, finance, and accounting. My work experience, in banking and in organizational management, has provided me with opportunity to apply this knowledge in real life situations.
I enjoy teaching and working with children and adults. My first experience in education was with children's music classes, and have since enjoyed the opportunity to teach adults at the community college level. I would describe my style as adaptive. In my experience every child and adult requires somewhat of a different approach. After careful evaluation, a course is developed to meet the students needs. With that ... read more

I would be glad to work with students of all ages, but I prefer to work with a student individually rather than work with students in a group. From both my experience of being an informal tutor and being tutored, I find that students general prefer this style of tutoring because the tutor can both focus and better access their student's strengths and weaknesses in the particular academic subject they are having difficulty with.
I have informally tutored people of various age ranges in the subjects, physics and math , for a period that ranges over about three years . I have taught younger relatives as well as helped people informally on online tutoring message boards with math and physics problems. I have also been paid to assist students in how to operate the basic commands of computational mathematical software for three years as well.

I am a graduate of North Carolina State University. I believe that my Computer Science degree, has prepared me to tutor students. At North Carolina State University, we took a variety of classes that made us well rounded. During the past 2 years, I have completed training to become a Substitute Teacher, and I had an opportunity to work for a few schools. I accepted most the assignments. They seemed to be pleased with my work ethic and my commitment to education.
My teaching style is very much hands on. I try to re-enforce what is being taught, to ensure that the student understands. Also, I like for the student to see the big picture, that each lesson is a stepping stone and that learning never ends.
