A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style would best be described as conversational at best, drawing out of the student, their knowledge or lack of knowledge. I have taught my two honors student sons that I add to their body of knowledge and they are to coalesce the information to their understanding.
Having a degree in Philosophy & Religion has many advantages in teaching. I have found to better understand a subject it is best to go and study many different resources for that subject, a macro-view. However the complicated subject is, a person who knows that subject will be able to present it in a simple concise manner. With this approach I am able to study and present a variety of subjects in a concise but exciting manner. The full grasps of studying P&R encompasses many sub fields of study : i.e. history, psychology, sociology, pretty much all the liberal arts.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am very patient. Before every lesson I review past lessons to ensure we are not building a castle on sand. I pass on to the student the ability to convey his acquired knowledge under test conditions. I try to make a difference in each student’s life. I hope to leave the student satisfied and happy at the end of each lesson and eager for the next lesson. A successful lesson takes away the student’s fear of his or her classroom. I earned my BA in Political Science and graduated from one of the best state schools in the United States, then went to law school and graduated near the top of my class. A Little Bit About Me...

My favorite part about teaching is the moment that something "clicks" within a child's mind. I am a problem solver naturally so I try to lead children down a path of discovery instead of just teaching the answer. I believe this helps children gain an understanding of how things work or why they are a certain way so that they are able to apply these same processes to other problems.
I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and BA in Spanish. I have 10 years of professional experience involving customer service, Spanish translation, tutoring, and training. As an ex-patriate, I was afforded the opportunity to learn Spanish fluently and have witnessed first hand its importance in business and life today. I also have elementary age children that I assist in the everyday learning processes.

My teaching style is adaptive. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn. The approach to learning is what makes the difference. Being a mother, I love children and am very patient. I also know that kids have their own distinct personalities and I address each child as an individual person, with their own talents and ideas. There is nothing better than when a person's face lights up, young or old, when they "get it." Knowing you have impacted a person, potentially for the rest of their life, is a reward in and of itself. The pay that comes attached to it is the bonus.
