A Little Bit About Me...

With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.

My teaching style is highly interactive and engaged. The relationship between student and teacher is based on mutual respect for our respective capabilities. An important first step in teaching, and particularly in introducing new material, is to construct a frame of reference familiar to the student, and then begin to expand that frame to enhance conceptualization and mastery of new skills and knowledge.

I love working with children of all ages. I understand that all children have a different way of learning, which does not make them "special", but unique as individuals. I am very patient, considerate, and understanding of each child's differences. My aim is to provide a safe atmosphere for each child so that they know they are not being judged for what they do not know, but are being praised for their uniqueness, perseverence, and innate intellegence. I believe that given the proper opportunities, every child can discover a love for learning, despite any setbacks they might have had previously. I also believe that one great teacher can make a difference in a child's life; I would love to be that teacher for as many students as I can.

I also have prior tutoring experience helping with students at my church and family members who were younger than me. I have helped tutor students with all major subjects.
I am a patient, understanding, and considerate person. I love the sight of a child learning something after a person takes the time to show the steps. At the moment, I am unemployed throughout the week so i can meet with a child/children whenever they need me. I also can help a child through their personal problems because it is not always that a child does not understand the information; sometimes they have other things affecting their lives. I want to be able to make a difference in a child life forever.

A Little Bit About Me...

Before going to college, I thought hard on what course I should take. As a child, I really enjoyed working with other people and sharing what I know with others. This is one of the reasons why I considered teaching as a job. After completing my Undergraduate education I went on to pursue a degree in medicine, because I had always been interested in helping others and always finding ways to contribute to society. I also pursued a masters degree in public health, so that I can reach out more to the society and be able to relate more. I am now a tutor, providing help to students during after school. I believe that my overall experience will allow me to be a great teacher.
