I like to teach students not only the material but also how to study in general. I am sure learning how to study will help students throughout their lives. I am a current international (korean), sophomore Economics major student at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I have taught students since I was in high school. I have several tutoring experiences from volunteering at Churches in the DC metropolitan area to private 1 on 1 tutoring. I enjoy teaching a lot, and I really love it when students come to me with happy faces after doing well on their tests. I am able to teach different subjects, but my strongest area is math, especially algebra. I also like to teach English (2310 on SAT - 730 Reading, 780 Writing, 800 Math). I have spent several years as a student and tutor at the university level. I am planning to enter medical school in the Fall of 2012 and as such have developed a strong foundation in the sciences throughout my undergraduate education. Although I majored in Biology, my true passion is Chemistry. I spent 2 years on a religious service mission where I became fluent in Spanish. My style is to adapt to the skill level and interests of the student and to work toward their own goals, whether these are to write a personal essay for college, to learn to write better generally, or to develop better overall English skills so they can move on to the next grade in school. I have 30 years journalism and communications experience and completed all course work for M.A. in journalism. I am the author or co-author of 14 books and hundreds of articles. I made a living as freelance writer for 15 years and had writing jobs on staff for about 15 years.
