I have many years of experience working with various age groups teaching and training a variety of activities. I spent a year and half of my college career studying Elementary Education before switching to Psychology. During that time I worked with students at our on campus elementary school Greenwood Laboratory. While working for the Park Board I had the opportunity to assist students K-5 with homework, recreation, fundamentals of sports and getting them to use their creative minds.
I love teaching and working with all children. I prefer a one on one setting and use positive constructive teaching methods. I am a good listener and have a lot of patience. I am a Special Education teacher by education and by choice. My teaching style is one that can be changed at any time to answer the learning style of a student. I am a hands-on, multiple teaching style person because I know that students do not learn by using just one learning style. If I said that I just had one teaching style, then I would only be teaching to one type of student and that is detrimental to all students. My teaching style is is very "hands on." Once I know what learning style my student is,I manipulate my instruction according to their different learning styles whether they be visual, audio, etc. I am a firm believer that every child can learn, as long as they have the support they need. As a teacher, I consider myself to be patient, encouraging, and easy going. I love working with children and feel that is my God given talent. I believe that all children can and will learn with the proper time given to them. All children learn differently.
