A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring in elementary school. I tutored students in grades below mine in reading, spelling, grammar, math, and science. I continued tutoring fellow students in high school, as well as teaching children as a church volunteer. After studying the administration of justice and evidence technology at Phoenix College, I finished my BS at University of Phoenix. While earning my degree, I used the knowlege and skills I have gained to help struggling students succeed as well.
I would describe my teaching style as straight-forward, but constructive and rewarding. I believe patience is important and that small successes lead to larger ones. I enjoyed all four years of my teaching. I taught fourth, fifth and Physical Education. Prior to that I substituted for two years as well. During substituting for three school districts, I worked with kindergarten through twelfth grade and special education students. Tutoring and mentoring students are my specialty. Mathematics, reading and writing are the areas that I have tutored the most in.

I have a passion for education. I believe that children can learn without even knowing it! Children love to play games and I make teaching like a game for them, so they have a great time and they are learning. There is substantial information that suggests that children retain knowledge if they thoroughly understand it and if they are having fun learning it. I haven't met to many children that don't remember rules and the directions of how to play boardgames especially if they have a blast playing it!
