As a Facilitator for Western/Delta Air Lines, I was sent to a Training Mapping class in Los Angeles, Ca. to master writing training materials based on the Fogg Index of the trainees. I have also been a Substitute Teacher in the Fayette County School system from 2003-2008 in various grade levels (kindergarden to High School. I hold a bachelor of science in Biology (cum laude) from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA and attended graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where I studied Molecular and Cell Biology and completed all coursework required of the Ph.D. Since graduate school, I have over 10 years of biology research experience in both academic and biotech settings. I believe that teaching is most effective when you give students a chance to show you what they already know. Half of teaching is simply encouraging children to be interested in their own progress and to persevere through the adversity that always follows real learning. I gage the progress of my students by asking them a lot of questions, and I give positive reinforcement whenever possible. I was introduced to teaching as a guitar teacher and loved the field of education ever since. My first school experience was teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies in Queens, N.Y.in 1979. Finally, I found my niche in high school teaching various subjects such as Physical Science, Biology, Social Studies and tutoring after school programs for the passing of the high school graduation tests.
