I am a student willing to be a teacher

I am currently a high school senior, I have made good grades in all of my classes, my GPA is 3.0. Writing is one of my top subjects!

I am 18 years old, and the oldest child of 7 kids. I was homeschooled K-12, and am always helping my younger siblings with their daily schoolwork. I'm very patient and laid-back, and I have different ways of explaining something if the student doesn't understand. A Little Bit About Me...

I use verbal and visual techniques for teaching and prefer to add an element of kinetic learning for tutoring. I explain the material in the book, preferably after the students have read the chapter. I also provide time for questions and answers, as well as group discussions and projects. I rely on exams only to show me if the students are understanding the material. If not I offer to tutor them or suggest they find a tutor.
I tutored math and science for Carl Albert State College from Sept. 1994 to May 1995. I tutored mostly in Algebra, but also in word processing, and anatomy and physiology. Nine of those years were spent in a first grade classroom were reading with a phonics approach ws used in cross curricular subjects daily.
