In high school I served as a big sister, and that's when I gained my passion for kids, and the importance of educating others. In college I volunteered at a local elementary school, following a group of students as their tutor until I graduated college. I have always enjoyed working with people. This is why I chose psychology as my major in college. A short while after graduation I worked as a tutor. At The DePaul School of Northeast Florida, I was a part-time tutor. I was hired as a full time teacher at DePaul and worked there for six years. I then decided to take time off from teaching and spent three years working in social services. During my time in social services I worked with children and their families and continued tutoring students in the evenings.
