Percussion is one of my top subjects! Specifically African djembe and hand drums.Have studied in Africa and taught private students and groups in Massachusetts.

Performed with numerous rock, blues, funk and jazz groups in greater Boston area. currently performing with Bitches Brew, playing the music of Miles Davis. Studied African drumming with Moussa Traore from Mali and Famoudou Konate from Guinea. Taught drum classes at Newton and Brookline Adult Ed programs
Exercises to improve facility, sense of rhythm, learning the fingerboard, practise geared toward the musical interest of the student.

I love teaching students of all ages. It is very satisfying to see their eyes light up when they realize they got it. One method i use is to teach the the music that they love and apply the theory and technique to it, and gradually introduce them to more challenging works. I can improvise at a moments notice to help get the lesson across, even if it means focusing on one task at a time. My goal is to make the learning experience as pleasant as possible.
I have been performing since i was a child. Attended Julliard school of music, City colege of NY. Published two albums of my own and has recorded with a host of astist as a sideman. I am a multi-instrumentalist playing piano,bass(electric and acoustic), all percussions,composer and arranger. I have earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in music performance
