I meet the student and work around their specific needs. If they are more energetic then I find things that will not only help them learn but will also allow them to use some of their excess energy. However if the student is more laid back I find more calm and relaxing ways to help them understand. I have a rewards system that allows the student to earn tickets that they can later use to get things that they can use. I have helped my cousins, which are 9 and 11, in school for years with reading and writing. I am also able to help in environmental science and economics. In high school I completed both with an A-. I have also taken A computer class and a business class at Muskegon Community College and excelled at both. I am able to help a student learn to type more effectively. I am also able to tailor my teaching style around the student.

This is my ninth year of teaching. I taught second grade for three years and in my sixth year of special education. I hold a masters degree form GVSU in Eduational Leadership. I am part of many committees that require knowledge of state standards and benchmarks at different grade levels. I have worked with students from kindergarten to individuals up to the age of 26.

I have tutored many kids in different fields including math, science, and English. I am a recent neuroscience graduate at Michigan State University and have quite a broad background in science so I would be able to help in many of the fields that I have listed for that as I have taken some advanced courses in that field. I also have experience working in tutoring centers and tutoring at my high school when I was part of the National Honor Society, in which I was more focused on math tutoring. I would be happy to help in tutoring in any of the subjects that I listed which I do currently has listed, as more focused on math and science for elementary through parts of high school

I have experience teaching 4th and 5th grades, all subject areas, reading intervention for 2nd and 3rd grade, and reading and math tutoring experience all the way from pre-k through 9th grade.
