I believe that the best way for a student to learn is to explain the basics of which subject I am teaching, show a few examples, and then let them discover how to obtain the answers in their own way. It’s very satisfying when I see a student’s mental light click on and their eyes light up in understanding after they figure something out. Positive encouragement is very important too.
I have a BA in Creative Writing, which I have put to use not only in my writing but I am a proofreader to several other beginning author’s stories. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style purposefully reflects the great teachers I have had. While I consider my subject and field of study greatly important, I realize that all work and no play kills desire. A subject, especially English, has to come alive; students have to relate. Of course grammar is always the hard part to "dress up," but that's the fun of teaching. I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. When am i ever going to use this in my daily life? Its important to let them see the applications from knowing calculus based formulas to predict market declines (algorithms), to basic math in in inventory work, to understanding complex words and their proper sentence usage so they can understand what rudimentary or neophyte means in a job interview. Also, its important to inspire. most of the children/ teens in a tutoring course have been discouraged due to the fact that they are not picking up on a subject as quickly as their peers. That why its understandable that if they have someone to look up to, as i did, in a particular course they tend to do better and go beyond what they though originally possible.
