A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring people when I was in the eigth grade. I decided I wanted to help out at the school across the street from my middle school in Colorado. I enrolled in a class that allowed us to go and assist the teachers and help the students. I fell in love with kids then for sure. I already knew I liked them because I started babysitting when I was 11 and couldn't stop! Then in ninth grade, a neighbor failed kindergarten and asked if I would starting coming over several days a week to help him understand what was being taught. Needless to say, he made it to the first grade! I now have a 17 year old sister who is constantly asking for my assistance in her homework and it is with great pleasure that I assist her.

A Little Bit About Me...

In having a science background, I have not only learned laboratory skills and reasoning skills, but I have learned how to increase efficiency, communicate in a clear manner, and write in a way that is direct and clear. I enjoy learning, and I instill that passion into my students as best I can. I grew up with a mom who is an English teacher, so I have developed good communication skills and writing skills from her. I have taught Biology for two years at the college level and I very much enjoy the experience of knowing that what you have been trying to convey to your students just hit home. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe it is important to determine what kind of learner each kid is (visual, auditory, and hands-on). This allows me to figure out a way to effectively transmit what I need in manners that would be understandable to the person I am working with. I realize that some subjects might leave little room for extreme creativity on teaching but it is still possible.

Teaching and working with children I believe is a passion one must have it can't be acquired. All children can learn and can find a joy in the learning process if they are guided well. I am patient and easy going with all especially children of all ages. I believe all children have the right to the best education possible. My goal is to provide and serve the children in the quest for educational excellence.
As a graduate of Texas Southern University, where excellence is our motto, I was driven to acheive excellence in biology. I earned my BS in Biology in December of 2009, which has enabled me to gain understanding in science and math.
