I love English--creative writing (fiction, creative nonfiction, personal essay, poetry, etc.) in particular, but I am also experienced in the mechanics of analytical, literary, and compositional writing. I feel that all students learn differently and for that my teaching styles vary. I am a visual person so; I that all children can learn when shown examples of what I am trying to teach them. I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. Just memorizing facts, although in some cases that is necessary, it is just not fun for all students and just may not stick unless learned in a fun way. I want to make learning fun because no one should ever stop learning. There is just too much out there to sit back and let life pass you by.

Due to my changing Majors as a junior, I received a Bachelors Degree with a double major, Biology and Education. My Minor was in English. I was pleasantly surprised when my Certificate in Oklahoma qualified me to teach seventeen fields. I have had the privilege of teaching nearly every discipline at the grade levels of seventh thru twelfth. In addition the District selected me to train to work with at risk students. I have worked in the public school setting over the past 14 years in grades pk through 8th grade. I have worked as an early childhood teacher, an administrator, P.E. teacher, and tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

Deep in the heart of Texas, I earned my English degree at a small college. I was only 21 years old and intimidated by the classroom, so instead of teaching, I entered the workforce.
