Tutored through National Honors Society in all levels of High School Algebra, as well as independently. Completed 2 years of German through UMKC dual credit program, 4 years in high school, and speak it every day, anticipated major. Classical pianist for over 12 years, have taught elementary student, multiple awards at metro and state level. I love teaching and working with students of all ages. I particularly enjoy watching a student's eyes light up after catching on to something new. I know all students learn in different ways, but I believe most people learn best when they are relaxed and enjoying themselves. I also believe it is important, especially for math, tasks be completed multiple times for the ideas to really be remembered. I believe making students explain the material to someone else is an effective way to gauge understanding. Most importantly, I truly care about students as people.
