A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style focuses on the student and his/her struggles. I really try to make the student understand the topic at hand and how to study it effectively. Studying techniques are very important and I introduce those techniques to the student. I really guide the student step-by-step through his/her struggles and to build their confidence. I change their mentality to a positive one. I enjoy working with others and I use all the resources that I can to make the student understand the topic. I usually give extra practice problems and I really challenge the students thinking pattern to make sure they understand the topic.

A Little Bit About Me...

Over the past decade I have also prepared science curriculum materials (middle and high school) for Glencoe McGraw-Hill, Gale Thomson, Pearson and John Wiley. I am the author of The Globalization of Trade, an introduction to the economics of globalization for young readers (published in 2004). Most of my curriculum writing has been science-related, but I have also prepared articles in other areas for Gale Thomson's reference books. My academic training was in the physical sciences (physics, chemistry). I earned a PhD in materials science from the University of Virginia and subsequently completed a two-year postdoc at Stanford University in theoretical chemistry. My undergraduate training was in physics (UC Berkeley).

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from Santa Clara University, I earned a BS degree in Chemistry, emphasis in biochemistry, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. Along with three years of experience working as a Chemist in the industry, I was able to explore different areas of chemistry and became an expertise in organic chemistry and chemical engineering. I also have learned extensive writing skills to produce research papers and laboratory reports. In addition to my science background, I am also a very passionate volunteer teacher at a Sunday school for the past seven years, teaching catechism to the children at my church.
