I believe teaching should be fun and creative in order to capture and maintain student's attention. I use visual aides or fun phrases that will enlighten the stress of learning another language. I try to make every experience memorable. I am very patient and I won't quit until my student understands what is being taught.
I am a native Hispanic born and raised in a Spanish speaking home. I work as a professional translator at a local medical office. I have worked with youth and adults on different levels of learning. I worked in the special education department at a local Middle school as well so I have school setting experience. I am very fluent in both English and Spanish.

My name is John Calleri and I have been a teacher for more than 30 years. My aim is to help my student’s to meet their specific needs. In order to help me students to achieve success, I first identify the need, I lay out a plan to address the need, and I learn my student motivations, then I create a relaxed learning atmosphere. I am very enthusiastic and I love to teach Spanish. I believe that tutoring is one of the best ways to meet the needs of the students because the pace of teaching is geared to the individual needs of the student.
I am a New York State certified Spanish Teacher. It is my love for learning and teaching, and my passion for my native Spanish language that inspired me to follow a career in education.
