I recently graduated with my Masters in Secondary English Education from Rivier University. I taught literacy to adults with special needs for two years, and I've been working as a substitute teacher at a high school since January. With an undergraduate and graduate background in English, I have developed a proficient grasp of the English language. I have a relaxed teaching style that makes my students feel comfortable and interested in learning. I believe I transfer my passion for my subject to my students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have wanted to teach since I was in second grade, and am currently working toward my license in Massachusetts. I believe that knowledge is an intimate thing, and that learning should be fun, and confidence-building. I use eliciting techniques, bringing student knowledge to the table first, and then build upon it. Knowing a student is important for preparing relevant materials for class. I believe technology is an important tool that can enhance the learning process when implemented appropriately. My Zen professor in college taught our class that in order to be a good teacher, one must be a good student. I strive to embody that principle.
