A lack of resources overseas drove me to be creative and exercise methods of experiential learning: hands-on and engaged learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for over 25 years in settings as varied as inner city schools in NYC to a small public school in Arlington Vermont, and an elite private school at Stratton Vermont. I have taught remedial, basic, bilingual and honors level classes in Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science in class room settings. I have tutored various sciences and math, including Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 on basic and honors levels. I have also tutored students for SAT prep in English and Chemistry. My undergraduate degree as an English major has enabled me to excell at writing research papers during my medical science career, as well as help my students with research projects and papers.

As a graduate of Bard College, where I earned a degree in English literature, I have acquired an excellent background in the discipline of writing and composition. I have built upon this experience by earning two Master's degrees, one in Special Education and the other in Library Science. I enjoy and excel in the field of research as evidenced by my career choices, for example, Lead Librarian for an IBM Research project and School Media Specialist at two high schools in Fairfield County Connecticut. As A recent graduate from a Liberal Arts School, I found it easy to connect with teaching as my calling. I have always driven for high levels of excellence in and outside the classroom and work force. Having an English and Philosphy background, I find it easy to critically think and annotate extensively works of literature.
