A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is unique to each student's indivdual needs. I take time to recognize my students learning style and provide the need materials or teaching style based their needs. I prefer tutoring to working in a classroom because I can give each student the specialized one-on-one time they need to help not only keep them on track with their school's requirements, but also introduce them to better study habits that could help them excel in the classroom when they do return to school.
During my years attending UMass Dartmouth, I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. But I also gained alot of experience working with children. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a relaxed teaching style that makes my students feel comfortable and interested in learning. I believe I transfer my passion for my subject to my students. I am able to draw on my extensive work and “real-world” experience, which students seem to appreciate. I have an informal manner, yet I expect much of my students. I expect them to do the work required and to have good attendance at the teaching sessions. I teach best through “hands-on” methods, allowing students to learn by doing.
I have worked most of my adult life in education or journalism, and I was able to combine my two passions as a journalism professor at the college level for several years. I love working with children of all ages. Children can learn very fast by talking, playing games and if properly taught they can remember in the long term. I am here to help children of all ages from english to math. I am very easy going, become a little kid with a child and am always smiley. I have a goods ways of explaining basic math, algebra, basic accounting and any business courses for older students and i can work around their way of thinking. I strive to make a difference in the people, as my position as a resident assistant allowed me to and as a law student wanted to make a difference.
