SAT Tutor with Specialized Curriculum

I have been tutoring high school students for a couple years with excellent results. My method of learning to take the SATs is very unique and has led to me using this system to score in the top 0.5% of all test takers. Anyone can learn to excel on this important test but most people go about it the wrong way. This is probably why many of my students have told me that I am great at explaining things so they understand it. Being proficient at math is similar to being proficient at playing a musical instrument. You can’t learn to play an instrument by going to concerts and watching other people perform. teaching is something that, to me, is unique when dealing with science education. When dealing with science there are many different ways of looking at the same problem. It is important for the student to keep his or her view of the problem and to work off of that view, rather than to change the view to the teachers. I believe that each student learns differently. The order in which a topic is taught to one person may not be the best way for someone else to understand the material. So I strongly support the use of flow charts, comparison charts, timelines, and picture diagrams with detailed descriptions. I think it is important to first identify where in the lecture the material becomes confusing or difficult, and then determine which organizational diagram should be used to simplify the flow and details of the material presented. I hope after the tutoring sessions the students gain new study techniques such as using diagrams and charts to speed up and clarify any type of subject matter that is presented to them in the future.
