A Little Bit About Me...

I believe strongly in teaching students the rules to understanding the lessons being taught,"first",and I love to demonstrate examples on a chalk board. Also, I remind students that there's no such thing as asking a "bad question", so if you don"t understand what's being taught..please ask questions.
I have tutored 80+adult males students five days a week for over seven years, providing them counsel and life skills. Please feel free to call Mrs. Amy Adams,my educational supervisor, at Terre Haute,IN. I was a very successful tutor at FCI Terre-Haute from 2005 to 2012. I love to teach a large or small group, knowing the importance of mastering one lesson at a time before you move to the next.

My comments on tutoring Algebra II : As an engineering student, I have used advanced algebra (correctly) every day for the past four years and throughout high school. Algebra is extremely useful and enjoyable once mastered.

My experience as a tutor began with my younger sister. When she was a sophomore, then later a junior, I taught her Algebra 2 and, later, Functions Statistics and Trigonometry. She passed both classes, remaining on the honor roll. My next tutoring experience was in tutoring my fifth-grade cousin. At the end of two months, he won the math award at his school. Since then, I have tutored students in College Algebra, High School Algebra, Basic Math, and Junior High Algebra. I have enjoyed this experience immensely and have seen positive results.
From my experience as a math student, I have seen that the best approach to teaching math is to make it highly step-by-step. My teaching style is highly logical, making sure the student understands the process for themselves. I can teach using words or pictures and adjust the pace according to the ability of the student.

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it.

I worked as a elementary teacher in Romania for about 13 years. I used to work differentiate and with a combination of classes. From the training I received, I learned methodics, how to teach math, science, physical education, arts, and develop other skills. I am patient and know child psychology. Don't want to substitute parents who have a great role in child development, I want to become the help and the friend of the kid, the friend who brings an alternative and new ideas in developing and performance.
Good teaching is about listening, questioning, being responsive, and remembering that each student and class is different. At the same time, it's about being human, respecting others, and being professional at all times.

I believe everyone has the tools to succeed. The ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses, and to adjust accordingly, is what it takes to succeed. Everyone is an individual, and as such, everyone has unique learning techniques. I believe encouraging the natural curiosity the student is the best way to foster a learning environment. I have a simple teaching style. I teach according to the students needs. I try to get a sense of how the student learns best and let them direct me to what they need. I teach the student to teach themselves. I have had great sucess with my approach in the past, as this is a very self-rewarding experience for the student. I have often found that students soon catch-on and then begin to excell on their own. I have used these techniques to tutor algebra, geometry, algebra II and psychology, political science, anatomy and physiology. I love to see that look in a students' eyes when they "get it!"
I have obtained a bachelor degree in biopsychology from GVSU, which required me to learn many levels of science and math as well as anatomy and physiology. I have a deep understanding and appreciation for this field of study and have produced many reports and essays in the aforementi ... read more
