I will be graduating from the University of Dayton with a Master's of Education degreee and I have a Bachelor’s degree in History. I love History and want to teach Social Studies in grades 4th-9th. I want to make a difference in the lives of people. I have been a substitute teacher for grades K-12 and have worked in special education classrooms. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that children will learn better with their own interests in mind. While I was tutoring History, it helped the child understand the concepts of the battles of the Civil War easier when I showed a map and used plastic army men. While tutoring Math, the student understood the concepts of fractions better if I used measuring cups for simple fractions.

I attended National University and earned a teaching certificate. I worked in a junior college in San Diego as a tutor in math, English, reading, and social studies. To be honest I worked as a Substitute because I was Laid off from my job. But when I started teaching I found it was very difficult to keep control of the class and to get the students to do their work. I thought I couldn't do this anymore. I didn't quit and things did get better. I learned that most of these children were from single parent homes, and were living below the poverty level. They were scared, hungrey and tired at times, and I new I had to adjust for me to be of any help, and I did.
