I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I then begin focusing on the area where the student is having difficulties. It may be that the student requires help with homework as well as review of fundamentals. I have over time developed a strong desire to teach and to ignite in others the same passion for learning that my teachers ignited in me. I believe that everyone has the ability to understand mathematics regardless of age and that the right teacher can not only facilitate deep understanding but can foster an enthusiasm for the subject that will naturally follow from such understanding.
