Give Real life experience a try

Experience throughout school, work and personal experience dealing with the mentally challenged and dyslexia. my best friend had a son who was dyslexic and also he had ADD and I got him to trust me in babysitting and I taught him various things. I taught him how to read and write he could not accomplish that on his own. He was 11 at the time and I think with kids you have to be creative to teach them and I am very creative. I also have an aunt who is mentally handicapped, and I love spending time with her she is a very giving person. They teach me and it is always a joy to work with them and give something back.
Hands on approaches mixed with worldly knowledge, and a very patient style.

Chef, Reader, Creative Writer, and Resume Writer

I am a culinary school graduate and a full-time chef. As part of my chef-ly duties, I regularly find myself teaching cooking techniques and helping people become more comfortable in the kitchen. When it comes to writing, that I do more for my own amusement, but I have always considered myself more of a writer than anything else. I use the Orton- Gilingham multi sensory approach.

ORTON-Gilingham multi sensory approach. Math without words until the concept is mastered. Using lots of manipulatives including video games, that teach concepts.
I Have worked for the Davis County School district for 12 years. The last few years I have been working intervention for students who are not performing at grade level. I have learned that not all kids can learn the way they are taught in school. My 8 year old is dyslexic. I Have studied the Orton-Gilingham multisensory approach to reading and spelling. I have also learned to engage children in activities that are fun and creative. I will not be doing the same teaching style as there school.

During my graduate year at San Diego State University in the School of Education I worked at one junior high school teaching U.S.History and one high school teaching an English class. The next year I subbed for the public schools in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I also taught Ecology and Conservation for the Camping and Education Foundation from 1971-1974, in International Falls, Minnesota. I was also a ski instructor in Innsbruck, Austria. A Little Bit About Me...

Learning has always been important to me. I've always strived to further my education and find new things to learn. I have earned a Master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, which involved english, writing, math, business, reading and of course marketing.
