My comments on tutoring Chinese : I am a native Chinese that speak Chinese fluently. I received formal academic training in Chinese as I grew up in China. I have done very well in Chinese writing, Ancient Chinese interpretation and Chinese literature.

My principles are 1. Engage the student as much as possible 2. Stimulate the student's interest on the subject 3. Make sure the student understands every step along the way by asking leading questions and having the student show his/her understanding. 4. Try not to give out answers directly and help the student find the solution instead. 5. Make the subject as fun as possible!

I have four years of teaching experience at graduate school. I was pursuing my Ph.D. at the University of Toledo for two years before I got a job. I graduated from University of California, Davis with a master degree in chemistry in two years. At both schools, I worked as a teaching assistant.
