ESL tutor that will help students continue learning

I have taught ESL students for 12 years in a wide range of levels and educational settings. Utilizing many resources and giving the students life skills is common practice in my lessons. I strive to present material in a comfortable way so students will enjoy learning and realize that learning is a lifelong skill. Through using a variety of mediums I challenge students as well as support them as they gain confidence.

A in AP U.S. History in High School, B.A. in International Relations and Russian Post-Soviet Studies from The College of William and Mary (3.4 GPA). 6 years of Russian language study, including a 6-week study abroad program in St. Petersburg, Russia, and 1.5 years living and teaching ESOL in Novosibirsk, Russia. 10 years of competitive running experience, including being captain of High School and University cross country and track and field teams.
Relaxed. I do not discipline students. If students want to learn they will put in the effort - I will not be their babysitter. I try to make class interesting, involved, and active, and to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

I graduated with honors from a formal university, where I tutored fellow classmates; however, I gained most of my tutoring and teaching experience overseas, in a universal classroom. I have taught youth and adults in Mexico, Spain, Chad, Benin, Morocco and other countries. In most of those cases I was teaching English, but I also taught key aspects of health, sustainable development, lifelong skills and leadership. I taught classes ranging in size between 5 and 100.
