I am a senior college student at The University of Alabama. I speak English and Arabic fluently and fully confident with the basics of the French language. I am also a McNair Scholar and I conduct academic and professional research. Besides being a student and a scholar, I volunteer my free time to tutor students. Because I enjoying tutoring I most of the time don't charge the students. I certainly have a passion to help students and have been tutoring for years.

My experience comes from many years of Teaching, Training, and Coaching. My first teaching experience come form Douglas County as a substitute teacher mostly for the special education program. Next I have worked for Fairfax County Schools and for Fairfax County Program called SACC. My years in Richmond were with Chesterfield County Schools and Club Z Tutoring. My Last school was Meadowbrook High School in the Special Education Classrooms.

I believe that learning needs to be fun, but that students need, and most of the time want, structure in their classrooms. I believe that learning needs to be relevant to students. They need to know why and where in their lives they will need or be using what they are being taught. I use a variety of instuctional methods while teaching (lecture, discussions,group activities, etc.) so students stay interested and because every student learns differently. I believe there needs to be mutual respect between the students and teachers. The classroom should be a place where students enjoy learning, feel safe, and are respected as individuals.

I began tutoring when I was a Jr. in high school. I tutored a variety of subjects for grades 5 through 8 during my last two years of high school. During my freshman year of college I tutored a classmate in English Composition I. More recently I tutored a college freshman in Algebra and some of my peers for continuing education credits in Algebra. I have a total of 3 years tutoring experience and an additional 2 years experience from home schooling my daughter for 2nd and 3rd grade.

A Little Bit About Me...

Peole dont lean in the same ways. I take an individual approach. I get to know the person, ther likes and dislikes, which gives me some knowledge on how to approach the lesson. I love working with people. I love watching people learn it is a great accomplishment.
Through out junior high and I high school I have tutrored fellow students in the area of math, from basic to geometry, trig and calculus.
