I knew I wanted to teach five minutes into my first teaching job. In 2010, I graduated SUNY Old Westbury College earning certification in Special Education (1-6) and Childhood Education (1-6). As one of the older matriculating students in the class and a mother of two girls, I have seen how different methods of teaching worked with different children. Being a wife and mother, for sure, are meaningful life experiences; but as a dance teacher working with children, I am familiar with the discipline it takes to achieve specifically defined goals. I was an Aide in the resource center at Pollard Middle School in Massachusetts and interned as a floating substitute at Elias Howe School in Bridgeport.
