Spanish is one of my top subjects! This is a certification that I added on through tests that I had taken and passed. I have had 14 years of experience with Spanish through classes I had taken as a student in high school and college, my experience studying abroad for a semester in Spain, and my 4 years of teaching experience to students of all levels from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

I went to Penn State University to pursue a degree in social studies education and also to obtain a minor in Spanish. Once I considered teaching Spanish as a potential career option, I studied abroad for a semester in Spain where I lived with a host family, took classes that were taught in Spanish, and I traveled throughout the country. I graduated from Penn State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and minors in history and Spanish and obtained teaching certification in social studies in grades 7-12 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and in Spanish in Kindergarten through 12th grade. I have been learning and speaking Spanish for 13 years! I would argue that my understanding of grammar is better than most native speakers. I majored in Spanish at Brigham Young University. I lived in the Foreign Language Student Residence for a school year to become more fluent. I also did a couple of mission trips in Mexico and a summer internship with a local Spanish radio station. I worked as a bilingual teller at a bank for over 18 months, where I was able to practice my Spanish about half the time! I have experience as a tutor and hope to gain even more. I was a volunteer tutor to a 6th grader while at Brigham Young University. I have helped family and friends with Spanish on numerous occasions over the years. A Little Bit About Me...

I don't have a deggree in any of my listings. But i can say I have EXPERIENCE. I am a high school student. How I stand out from others is I know what teachers are looking for NOW. Things have obviously changed since others got their degrees. Teaching styles and expectations. I have a 3.0 avg. And my best subject by far is English. I also have spanish listed. I am a native spanish speaker. I grew up with and around the language. Sure you could find someone who was taught the language in the classroom. But why not someone who speaks it on a daily basis. Who can read, write, speak and deeply understand it.
Communication and patience is key. Im not an easily irritated person. I understand the struggles other teens may be going through as so have I before.

Spanish is my first language and have a passion for it. In 2009 I had the opportunity to teach it to High School students and was a great learning experience. In spring 2011 tutored a young boy, age 9. I also am a translator, proofreader and editor. In 2010 I was in charge of a project to translate a 300 page class manual, which was translated, proofread and edited in a period of 12 months.
