A Little Bit About Me...

My experiences at Deerfield Academy (Deerfield, MA) gave me a passion to educate and mentor. I received my bachelor's degree from SUNY-Albany in Biology (2001). I began tutoring predominately high school students in 1998 in the areas of Mathematics(NYS Regents), Regents Biology and Chemistry. My success as a tutor led to a full-time teaching position at Gloversville High School (Gloversville, NY). My reputation at Gloversville created an opportunity for me as Science Department Chair at Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery County BOCES's Alternative Education Program. I have spent the last six (6) years in financial services, however, I continued to privately tutor after I left teaching.

I currently manage a research lab at Albany Medical College. During my tenure here in the past six years, I have been able to instruct techniques that I have learned and developed to other colleagues and students that have worked in the laboratory, even though my teaching experience began in high school as a laboratory assistant in the 10th grade biology classroom. I love teaching and working with children and adults. I, myself have achieved a high level of excellence in education by completing two degrees and plan on completing my BS in Nursing. I believe in teaching through demonstration and by providing an optimal atmosphere for learning. I strive to make a difference in other peoples' lives and that is why I chose to become a nurse.
While at West Chester University, I had to take Statistics and Probability and that was because I was in the excelled Math program in high school.
