My primary experience in tutoring has been in mathematics and science. I worked with my first student, on mathematics, over six years ago. In science and math the learner has to practice much like learning to play a musical instrument. It helps if you can bring real world applications into the classroom so it is meaningful to the students otherwise they feel like they are learning something just for the cause of learning.
