Education is the key to our future and little is more rewarding than being able to have a guiding influence on a young person. I became a scientist because a single college professor ignited my interests in math and science. Everyone is different... we all learn in different ways. My teaching style is to connect with that key way a student likes to learn. I like to make the learning process enjoyable for the student by making the lessons relevant to the student's interests. I use verbal and visual techniques for teaching and prefer to add an element of kinetic learning for tutoring. I explain the material in the book, preferably after the students have read the chapter. I also provide time for questions and answers, as well as group discussions and projects. I rely on exams only to show me if the students are understanding the material. If not I offer to tutor them or suggest they find a tutor.
