I believe one on one tutoring is very helpful to all children. Many children are behind in school because they are not getting the attention they need. I love to teach and work with children. That is why I am entering the field of Speech Language Pathology.
I am currently enrolled in the Speech Language Pathology graduate program at Northeastern State University (NSU). In the program we are getting hands on training with one on one therapy/tutoring with students/clients in reading, grammar, phonics, and language skills. I have enjoyed substitute teaching since 1991; it was a part- time occupation that worked well as I re-entered the college scene in order to advance my AA degree to a BA in Political Science. Life and destiny urged me to earn a teacher's certification in Texas, where I later worked as an ESL 4th-5th grade teacher in the Waco (Texas) Independent School District for three years. A move to Kentucky to be closer to my aging mother resulted in six years of working as the Adair County School District's Gifted and Talented Coordinator and ESL/ELL Coordinator.
