The most important thing when working one-on-one with a student is to find out the best ways that student learns. Patience is important, as is humor.
In 20 years of teaching experience I have tutored students of all ages, different socio-economic backgrounds and intellectual abilities, as well as in a wide variety of subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style depends on the student. Some students need more visual and audio while others depend on memorization. I like to modify my style that suits their needs as a learner. I beleive in comprehension skills, memorization and learning key concepts to help them link connections.
I am currently a substitute teacher and work everyday in one of four school districts in the Rochester area. I enjoy helping and tutoring kids. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for two years as an Earth Science teacher in the Rochester City School District. I was also a teaching assistant in a K-5 building in West Irondequoit (self-contained classrooms). I have been a substitute teacher/teaching assistant in the Penfield Central School District. I have also spent some time tutoring some students from Penfield in Earth Science. In college at Fredonia I tutored students in Geology and Geography.
