A Little Bit About Me...

I have direct experience as a tutor in the University of Texas at Tyler Writing Center. While working there, I assisted students in all parts of the writing process from initial outlines to proper citation of sources. My more recent positions have all involved some element of training. These experiences ranged from lecture-style presentations to phone, email and face to face instruction.
I am familiar with most major learning styles but do not subscribe to one particular view. To me, effective teaching means being fluid, adaptable, and responsive to the students’ needs and learning styles. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a degree in Criminal Justice. I have always been a good student. I have never directly taught children, but I have 2 kids who I help everyday with their homework and they are in junior high and are in all advanced classes. Since I feel that I am a great motivator and know how to study for certain things, I show my kids the encouragement they need and now I feel I can offer this to other kids as well. I have great grammer skills and can help with studying as well.

I earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from USF in 2000. I became certified to teach K-12 grades in 2003. I taught 5th grade for one year and then Kindergarten for two additional years. I believe that my instructional abilities, combined with my strong ability to teach. My background in Early Childhood Education as both a teacher for three years, as well as a supervisor for five years has further cemented my ability to teach.
