Ready to love learning

I currently work as a substitute teacher at Riverside Military Academy. I've worked with elementary children and teenagers extensively. My most recent position serves twenty and thirty somethings in their personal and spiritual formation. I have published my writing, acted on stage, spoken before thousands and mentored dozens. My personal intent is to explore life, discover new things, tackle hard challenges and inspire others to do the same. I believe in the value of the individual and don't believe one-size-fits-all.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style goes from both pedagogy to description. Once I understand the knowledge of the student, I speak to them on the level of what they know, depending on the age. Since I've worked with students from age 2 to adulthood, I try to relate to students based on their age as well. If the student is not very knowledgeable of music, I tend to explain things to make it plain. Often, professionals tend to speak "over" the student's head with technical words, so they have no clue as to how to produce a note. I use descriptions to make the idea more useful to the student.
