I have ADD, and have had a semester's worth of interning at the Specialized Language Development Center, working with kids who struggle with reading, writing, and comprehension. Kids brought to the center are usually dyslexic, ADD/ADHD, or have some type of learning disability, however, those without disabilities come for help too, ranging from kindergarden all the way to college level students.

Though I have a degree in classroom education, one-on-one teaching is my heartbeat. I believe it is the highest good for a student's learning. It prevents your student from getting "lost in the crowd" and allows us to focus on his or her needs. My first goal is to determine how the student learns. I enjoy teaching children and preparing those who will be the future of our society. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all students have an individualized learning style and I like to find that out first. I make a learning plan based on the student's needs and develop strategies for teaching based on the learning style assessment.
I have been a Reading Interventionist for my local school district and left that job to complete my student teaching. I have been tutoring for about 4 years and have working knowledge of helping students with special needs learn.
