English ESOL is one of my top subjects! I am a TEFL certified teacher.

I teach using the communicative style. This style focuses on allowing the most possible talk time for the students and not a lecture style lesson.
I received my TEFL certification this year. I have taught in a classroom setting with very low level beginners and in a private tutoring setting with advanced students. Besides teaching, I have spent time observing experienced teachers at every language level. Classes and experience include lesson planning, and teaching speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

I try to understand the student first. Then I try to bring him/her to discover what I am trying to teach. I am patient and respectful of their personalities. My style is participatory, democratic. Together with the students we discover the meanings of what we are learning.
I have a passion for learning and I always make sure that people around me also discover it in themselves. That is the the reason why I am constantly around learning activities. I have been a tutor many times in various settings. I am at present a Level 2 coach in Track and Field from the USATF organization. I enjoy coaching since it is closely related to teaching. English is my favorite subject. I also tutored French for 4 to 5 years.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the most important key to teaching is having a passionate teacher. When a student has a teacher who is interested in the subject matter, they cannot help but be interested too. In regards to my favorite subject, history, I believe it is best taught by focusing on the ‘story’ aspect of it. When a student can learn the over-arching narrative and hear the inspiring stories of the men and women who have made history, the dates and details will readily follow. I believe each student learns differently and a teacher needs both patience and adaptability to find the approach that works best in each individual case.
