Being a native Russian speaker, I attended Moscow State University (where I studied psychology and Russian) after graduating from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, and have extensive tutoring experience spanning over 20 years. In addition to that, I was the CEO of a book store and learning center in Russia which had publishing connections worldwide and provided tutoring services to students of all ages and backgrounds. Upon moving to America, I became a language and culture instructor at the US State Department's Foreign Service Institute, where I taught diplomats and government officials under major time constraints and pressures. I always try to find a different approach to learning. If the material is delivered in a boring way, it won't be memorized. I try to engage students to become really interested in the subject. I use metaphors and comparisons to explain the meaning of a certain word of phrase and a clue to remember both its spelling and meaning. I've been been tutoring and teaching Russian, Math and other subjects as long as I can remember myself (and I've been around for a while). I received all my formal education in Russia (Bachelor degree in engineering), and continued to educate myself in the US. I am teaching art now, and I love doing this, but something is missing, so I would love to go back into teaching Russian also.
I am a creative person, but I love structure and logic approach also, so my teaching style is a blend of creativity and logic.
