I have three children who my wife and I have homeschooled over the past ten years. I have an associates degree of applied science and criminal justice and a bs in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis area on criminology, sociology and business. Not only being a teacher, tutor and mentor to my children I have also taught Sunday school for grades first through fifth. I help mentor teenagers from the church during the summers. I have also used tutors mysef and know how beneficial they are and hope to be as benefial to others as they have been to me. My experience in tutoring computers, German, Spanish, and the higher level English, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses are with my children and friends.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have had several years experience of teaching throughout my schooling from college education, personal experience-being the oldest child/grandchild, daily experiences, and now being a parent of a young child. I've always known I would be a teacher. I loved my teachers growing up & I had a natural curiosity to know what it was like to help others. I hold 3 degrees-AA in Elementary Education, BS in Early Childhood Education, and MA-in Education. Even though I do have my degrees, I feel grateful to learn everyday. My entire background revolves around teaching. I taught in a Preschool while I was working on my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While there I worked with all ages from Infants to the School Age children. After completing my degree I then went to teach in a public school. The first year I taught and ran the Preschool Program of about 50 children, ages 3 to 5 years. The next four years I taught third grade where our emphasis was on reading comprehension, analytical thinking skills, and writing. After leaving the public school arena I completed my MBA and then moved on to teaching adults. Lately I have been working at a local hospital instructing Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Clinic Managers on integrating their new Electronic Health Records program.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is is very "hands on." Once I know what learning style my student is,I manipulate my instruction according to their different learning styles whether they be visual, audio, etc. I am a firm believer that every child can learn, as long as they have the support they need. As a teacher, I consider myself to be patient, encouraging, and easy going. I try to make my student feel as comfortable as possible, and that depends a lot on the atmosphere of the room and the attitude of the teacher. I do set high expectations for my students because I cannot help but believe that they can achieve anything they set their mind to with hard work and a right attitude.
